PARTICIPANTS PACKING LIST​
* Compulsory Items are a must to bring on race day.​


Compulsory Attire:


   1. Running shoes
   2. Socks


Compulsory Equipment:


   1. Bag / pouch (Sling bags are not recommended)
   2. Pen and paper
   3. NRIC / Identification Card
   4. Swimwear & goggles (SMU pool rules dictate all swimmers using the pool to wear proper swimwear)
   5. Race Bib
   6. Mobile phone (For safety reasons)
   7. Torch light with new batteries
   8. Personal hydration equipment
   9. Energy bars / gels / Food
   10. Personal medication (If necessary)
   11. Personal first aid kit


Highly Recommended:


   1. Towel
   2. Raincoat/poncho
   3. Ziplock bags (To waterproof race passport)
   4. It is strongly advised for all personal items to be waterproofed.

Reporting and Registration

​

Reporting and Registration time:      2 hours before flag-off time
Race Briefing:                                       At least 1 hour before flag-off time

 

• The flag-off time is dependent on your wave number which will be notified to you during the pre-race briefing.
• All members of the team must be present on the actual race day with their NRIC/Identification card for verification process during registration. Failure to register at least 1 hour before the flag off-time may result in ineligibility for prizes for the race.

Rules

​
1. Participants are allowed to race in their own preferred attire. However, the AdRace race bib is to be pinned and displayed clearly and visibly on their attire at all times.


2. The race passport will be given to each team. The race passport must be shown to each station master and carried throughout the race.

 

3. The loss of race passport or race bib will result in immediate disqualification. However, the team may still choose to continue with the race despite being unranked.
 

4. All team members are to report to each station together as a team during the race. Station masters will not check-in the team unless all members of the team are present at the station.
 

5. Teams are to adhere to the instructions of race officials, station masters, helpers and road marshals throughout the race.
 

6. Participants are not allowed to tamper, remove or damage any form of equipment or clues used during the race. Teams found doing so will be immediately disqualified.
 

7. All team members are to report to station masters immediately upon arrival at a new station.
 

8. All team members are to report to the station master to check-out before they leave the station.
 

9. Traffic rules are to be adhered to when travelling on roads.
 

10. All participants must wear safety helmets (provided) when cycling on roads.
 

11. Front and back lights of bicycles (both bikes and lights are provided) must be switched on when cycling on roads.
 

12. Teams are not allowed to share any information with other teams during the race through any form of communication.
 

13. Teams that fail to complete the race within the stipulated cut off time will be disqualified and transported directly to the end-point.
 

14. Teams or participants may choose not to participate in any activity by informing the station master. Doing so, the team would be unranked, but may still continue with the race.
 

15. The HQ is to be informed if any participant feels unwell and wishes to drop out of the race. Teams with members that fall out at any point during the race will immediately be unranked, but may still continue with the race.
 

16. Failure to adhere to any rules and regulations may result in the teams being unranked or automatically disqualified.
 

17. There will be no showering facilities provided at SMU. Participants can clean/wash up at the various toilets located within SMU compound.

Terms and Conditions


1. Participants are advised to bring only necessary items to the race. The Organiser shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to any personal belongings deposited at the bag deposit service.

 

2. The Organising Committee reserves the right to change the rules or the course at any given time without prior notification or any reasons thereof.
 

3. The Organising Committee reserves the right to remove any participant deemed physically incapable of continuing with the run to prevent him/her from causing greater harm and injury to himself/herself.
 

4. The Organising Committee reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of Participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the AdRace 2013 for any publicity purpose.
 

5. The Organiser will issue the t-shirt size as indicated in the registration form subject to availability. In the event when the chosen size is unavailable, the Organiser reserves the right to replace it to the next best available size.

Inclement Weather


1. In the event of inclement weather before the race, the flag off time of the race will be delayed until deemed safe by the race officials to continue.
2. Should bad weather persist, the Organising Committee reserves the right to cancel the race without refund of fees.
3. In the event of inclement weather during the race, the race will be suspended until deemed safe by the Organising Committee to continue.
4. In the event of inclement weather during the race, participants are advised to seek shelter. They may continue on to the nearest station at their own risk. The contact person of each team will be informed of further instructions.
5. Stoppage time will be given for the duration of suspension of the race.

Safety

 

1. First-aid service will be provided during the race.
2. Water re-hydration points are available along designated places along the race route.
3. All check points will have communication accessibility to the Race Organising Committee.
4. All participants are to be responsible for their own safety during the event. The Organiser shall not be liable for any damages whatsoever, resulting from injury, whether fatal or otherwise, of any participant or for damages to or loss of such person’s property.
5. Participants who are not certain of their physical and/or mental capacities to participate in this race are advised to consult their family doctor prior to participation.
6. Participants should be well-rested (at least 7 hours of sleep) and hydrated prior to the race day.
7. Should a participant feel unwell, he/she is to stop and seek medical attention from the nearest race official or to call the safety number.
8. Participants should notify their Next of Kin of their participation in the race prior to participation.
9. Participants should report all their medical conditions to the Organising Committee.
10. Participants should not be on Medical Certificate (MC) on the day of their race.
11.  One team should have at least one basic first aid kit at all times. The first aid kit should include plasters, sling bandages, Vaseline, antiseptic, sterile gauze pads and cotton swabs.

The SMU AdRace 2013 Organising Committee, SMU, SMU Xtremists (SMUX), their sponsors, appointed staff and officials will under no circumstances be accountable for any liability resulting from injury, whether fatal or otherwise of any participants or from damage to or loss of such person’s property while participating in the race.


The SMU AdRace 2013 Organising Committee, SMU, SMU Xtremists (SMUX), their sponsors, appointed staff and officials would under no circumstances be held responsible for the cancellation of the event due to unforeseen circumstances.

 

As we take great importance in ensuring the safety of all our participants and helpers as you have fun in the race, we hope to seek your understanding and cooperation in fulfilling our above guidelines and criteria for the race.
